I'm Sophie.

I'm a UX/UI designer based in Los Angeles who creates digital experiences that are both thoughtful and creative. I'm a passionate, self-driven learner who’s always looking for ways to grow, take action, and deliver better results.

Growing up, I was endlessly curious about the world around me. As soon as I became an adult, I set out on my own journey - traveling to 20 countries, studying abroad in England, living in the Philippines, and coming to the U.S. as an exchange student. My mom used to say I would never stay in one place for long and she was right. I'm passionate about exploring new places, learning new things, and connecting with people from all walks of life.
Living abroad hasn’t always been easy, but these experiences taught me how to adapt quickly, embrace new environments, and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds.

Previously I worked as a sales and customer service representative, where I learned how to build strong relationships and understand customer needs. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people, and solving their problems has always been a source of motivation and fulfillment for me. That same passion now drives my work as a designer, where I strive to create experiences that truly make a difference.

 

How did I get into UX?

What really got me into the field were my two tiny online stores; a vintage shop and a jewelry shop. I sell vintage products like tea cup sets and art works. Since most vintage products are one and only kinds, I had to think of all the different props and themes for each product when I presented them to customers. Also, I sell jewelry that I designed by myself. When I get feedback from customers, I always reflect on my clients’ thoughts to design for better products. These experiences helped me find lots of creativity in myself and allowed me to have a design thinking. As a consequence, I chose to pursue this new path into UX design where I could utilize both of my artistic skills and sales/customer service background.
